Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is a comprehensive martial art derived from the deep traditions and practices of Japanese and Chinese self-defense and self-discipline. This is the art of the ninja. Based on the necessary skills of the ninjas of old, it encompasses a wide array of disciplines and techniques. Our Bujinkan classes apply the tried and true methods of traditional martial arts to the demands of the modern world.
The Bujinkan curriculum consists of a challenging and empowering set of skills based on the teachings from 9 separate martial disciplines or schools as taught by the Grandmaster in Japan, Masaaki Hatsumi of Nodashi. Students of Bujinkan will go over scenario training for a vast multitude of potential situations, and will learn to employ both unarmed combat techniques and weapons-based training. Students will also learn the value of environmental awareness, awareness of self, and self-confidence as important aspects of self-defense.
In addition to training in the dojo, students will also have the option to participate in Ninjas in Nature, our new nature-based training program where students learn and practice the essential survival skills that were traditionally part of the ninja’s training. These classes are taught at our beautiful Ninja’s NEST location in the Santa Cruz mountains (click here for more details).
